USAGE
NORMS
-
JIT-Central
Library functions on all week days between 8:30
am to 8:30 pm. During Saturdays, Sundays,Holidays and Vacation working time is
09.00 am to 05.00 pm

Entry into JIT-Central
library is restricted to the Teaching Staff,
Supporting staff and the students of JIT only.
Outsiders shall get permission from the
Principal for using the facilities at JIT-Central
Library.

Users must keep
their belongings at the "Property Counter"
before entering the Central Library. Only small
pads or loose sheets are allowed inside the
central library for taking notes
-
Access into JIT-Central Library is provided to
the students by using the smart card, without
which no student will be allowed to enter the
Central Library. In case of loss of card, the
student must get a permission letter from the
Principal.

Access into JIT-
Central Library is provided to the visitors only
after making an entry in the Entry Register kept
at the entrance of the JIT- Central Library

Complete silence,
dignity, and decorum should be maintained inside
the JIT Central Library
-
Users have to
produce their ID card to the library staff as
and when asked for.
-
Users should leave
the books and other reading materials on the
tables after reading and not in the shelves.

Misplacement of
books in the different shelves is punishable
-
Underlining,
scribbling and / or tearing of pages or any
other type of mutilation of books , Magazines
,journals etc., mishandling or misuse of
computers will lead to severe punishment.

If any reading
Material is brought out of the central library
without proper entry serious action will be
taken.

The JIT-Central
Library Accession List and Issue are managed
through a web-enabled software- AUTOLIB. The
students shall search the AUTOLIB-OPAC to
identify the books required and make a
reservation for required library resources. The
books or non books will be issued as per the
order of reservation. One can get into the
AUTOLIB-OPAC by clicking on the OPAC desktop
icon from any computer installed in the JIT
campus.

Reference Books, Periodical
Back volumes, Journals, magazines and Projects
meant for books will not be issued.

Students can
borrow books for a period of 14 days.
The loan period can be extended by another 14
days, provided there is no reservation pending
for the book.
Second renewal
of book is not possible even if the book is not
in the reservation list. Students can
also borrow non-books (CD,DVD, Video and Audio
Cassettes) for the period two days. Renewal of
non books is not allowed.

It is the
responsibility of every student to return the
books or non books on or before the due date,
which can be known from the AUTOLIB or Due Date
slip. In case if they are not returned within
the due date, a Late Fee of Re. 1 per day will
be collected.

In case the book
or non book are lost by a borrower,
the users should replace the resource at his/her
own cost within 30 days. If failed
he/she will be fined five-times the cost of the
book or non book as Replacement Fee
-
Two-times the cost
of book will be charged as penalty, if any
damage is found while returning the borrowed
books. It is the responsibility of the students
to check whether the book or non book is in good
condition at the time of borrowing.

Books, non books
and other reference materials required for study
purpose but not available in the JIT-Central
library stack may be brought to the notice of
the Librarian.

Group discussions
or any other such activities will not be
permitted inside the Central Library.

The user should
avail the services of the Central Library in
person and not through a proxy.
-
The system kept in
the Central Library is only for browsing of E-
journals and for searching of books in Central
Library and not for general browsing and e-mail
checking.
-
No refreshments or
foodstuff of any kind shall be consumed anywhere
inside the Central Library.

The competent
authority will take necessary action against the
users who violate the library rules and
regulations.

Not withstanding
anything contained in the above rules, the
decision of the authorities of the Institute in
all matters related to
the
library services and usage shall be final
and binding on all users.
FOR
TEACHING STAFF AND SUPPORTING STAFF
-
Teaching Staff can
borrow 08 books at a time for a period of one
semester. Supporting Staff (Technical) can
borrow 04 books at a time for a period of one
month. Supporting Staff ( Non Technical) can
borrow 02 books at a time for a period of one
month.

Teaching Staff can
also borrow four non books (CD,DVD, Video and
Audio Cassettes) at a time for the period of 7
days. Supporting Staff (Technical and Non
Technical)can borrow two non books at a time for
a period of 7 Days

Back issues of
journals/magazines and reference books will be issued for two days
during holidays, and overnight during Working
days.
